Listomania

Used to getting on guest lists rather than compiling lists, Bernard has rocked around the globe working in the seedy world of Rock n' Roll PR,  pandering to the whims of the rich and famous megastars of Rock, until … nirvana...he was offered the LIST O' MANIA gig at Planet RockBernard’s obsession with lists kicked in early, at 11 years old he was introduced to the dark and sinister world of vinyl by Malcolm (his bully of a big brother ) who forced him to listen to, catalogue and list every Beatles lyric with ‘love’ in the title from 1962 – 69. 5 years later he was at the heart of the ‘new wave’ listing and reviewing Punk singles for ‘Sniffing Dew’ a local fanzine for farmers in Stoke Newington.  Despite veering off into the world of bat and ball, ranking all Victorian cricketers with no beards for Wisden, his obsessive brain returned to rock n' roll when asked to compile a Top 100 list of tracks that "Changed The World" for The New Statesman.

OVER THE YEARS BERNARD HAS FOUND HIMSELF:In the same room as Keith Richards playing 'Wild Horses' in his suite at The Savoy in London to an audience of himself and one other. Jimi Hendrix at Chelmsford Corn Exchange in 1967 playing 'Wild Thing'  to 2,000 confused mods and David Bowie playing Velvet's ‘White Light White Heat ‘ to 40 people at The Marquee, Bernard can't quite remember the date - it was sometime in the haze of the 60’s!

He has also had the pleasure of playing beach cricket with Mick Jagger and the crew for the 'Dancing In The Street' video at 4am and playing football for Island Records on a council pitch in Hammersmith against Bob Marley & The Wailers, losing 5-1.Rod Stewart once had Bernard’s hotel room re-arranged by the crew while plying him with bottles of Jamiesons in the lounge lizards bar. He also took a private jet with Ronnie Wood & Charlie Watts swigging champagne all the way into Prague and being detained (and left) at customs for not having a work permit !Bernard has been subject to Bob Geldof shouting at Pete Townshend to forget the f***ing egos and get The Who onstage for the 1985 Live Aid gig and witnessed the bizarre rider of Steven Tyler & Joe Perry demanding steamed vegetables, organic soup all washed down with carrott juice before going onstage!
