Zeppelin Tickets "Emerge" Online
Led Zeppelin tickets appear for sale on some websites less than one hour after the official announcement that they would not be released until October 1.
It is just after 5 o’clock on Wednesday September 12. Led Zeppelin announced just over one hour ago that they would reform for just one night in November for what is the most anticipated gig of the decade.
And yet several websites have already started to sell tickets to the concert.
In his interview with Planet Rock, Harvey Goldsmith confirmed that the websites currently selling tickets are NOT official. Tickets bought from auction sites will be cancelled and anyone who buys tickets from touts is just as likely to be refused entry to the gig.
There is currently only one official site to get tickets from, and that is www.ahmettribute.com. Those tickets will only be sold to the winners of a ballot who register before 1 October. However, unofficial agencies have tickets on sale for between £400 and £1000, which is some mark-up on the already steep £125 that they actually cost. And whilst the emergence of tickets on the internet prior to their release isn’t a surprise (it happened with Cream, Springsteen etc), it is worth noting again that the tickets are not even released until 1 October.
Please be careful when purchasing tickets from unofficial sources. We don’t want to see you on Watchdog at the end of November complaining about being ripped off by a dodgy agency who took your £1000 and gave you tickets to a Led Zeppelin tribute concert.
