Planet Rock Rocks Louder Than Ever

31st January 2008

The past three months RAJAR figures were announced today - and Planet Rock has grown yet again.

The RAJAR Wave 4 survey confirms that Planet Rock’s reach is at its highest level with a massive 563,000 weekly listeners – the sixth consecutive increase and pulling further ahead over the BBC’s 6Music…

Rick’s Place has seen an increase of 43% Quarter on Quarter to a 121,000 weekly listeners, meaning that Rick has more than doubled his audience over the last 12 months.

A big thanks to all our listeners from everyone here at Planet Rock HQ.

with time running out and no news of a buyer, i, and several work colleagues are getting twitchy. since taking my dab radio to work a few months ago, i have converted several work-mates to planet rock, with some of them purchasing the same model radio-the beast-as i have. i believe the audience would continue to grow at a steady rate, as recent converts are spreading the gospel, and i'm certain there are very few who stop listening to this station once hooked. surely it must be an attractive proposition for a potential buyer, preferably one who would allow it to maintain it's high standards and integrity.

This radio station is by far the best on DAB, and I was gutted to hear about the closure. Please everyone who reads this go to http://www.youchoose.net/campaign/save_planet_rock and sign the petition!

Currys are going to have alot of DAB radios coming back for refunds if you guys go, tried to scan through the OTHER channels but , no nothing else worth listening to. Keep rocking guys and I'll drop you a tenner just as I'm sure every other listener would just to hear you every day....... Lets save PR

Planet Rock is the only radio station I ever listen to. When I bought my 1st DAB radio (I now own 3: 1 for kitchen, 1 for living room and 1 for bedroom), I flicked through the stations until I came upon PR. I was blown away big style.
It's like being in a time warp, hearing all the music I first listened to as a teenager! All three radios are permanently tuned into PR.
It would be THE CRIME OF THE CENTURY if PR was to close down. I'll sign any petition going...better still, I'd start a petition and get all my mates to sign it if it helps to keep PR ROCKIN' ALL OVER THE WORLD!!
Good luck. I wish you all the best.
Hellen.
